lyrics
The world being swallowed
By the lies we all believed,
Every second collapses during obvious eternity.
I make a choice with no flavour,
I put my trust in no saviour,
I'll be pretending night and day
That I believe in what they see,
That they're right when they all fancy.
O brothers, Id'like to scream
That when all sense is lost,
when no answer remains
Questions stuck in your throat,
One last thing highlights
Our lost humanity.
- I will keep speaking
Until you shut my mouth
I will keep asking
After the gavel's stroke
I don't need listeners,
I don't need answers
I keep my prayers for me,
I keep my conscience clear.
And when the world
Comes to an end,
When there's no one to cheer you up,
When the smile that you forgot,
Comes to enlight your frozen lips,
Hearing the songs while reading the narrative behind the lyrics, I felt overwhelmed by this tragic story in which humans and artificial intelligence couldn't coexist side by side. Their reciprocal annihilation was inevitable. Except one "sole survivor, in a ship filled with memories. She had become the proof of Earth, proof that life had existed there, a voice for all the species and beauty we once knew". A dystopian concept dressed up in brilliant musicianship! @Slevin, thanks, I owe it to you! Umbra Cornuta
Quite possibly the most full-on album I've ever listened to. Intense, and then some. 'Digital Tarpit' could describe both the track and the whole album: high-pitched guitar squeals that make your fillings itch coupled with merciless, suffocating heaviness. The Avenell-esque vocals top it off perfectly.
Brilliant - punishing, but brilliant. jim_fuego
